For me painting is like breathing. I must do it to live. It’s a gift which encompasses far more than the ability to put paint on a brush and apply it to a surface. It becomes part of daily life in how I look at everything I see and do. Noticing the reflected light on a coffee cup or how a piece of trash in an alley evokes an emotion. I want to create a page in a story that the viewer completes when they view my work. It’s not what it means to me but what it means to them. So I strive to do more than just create a painting, I strive to create art.
